The installation initially began in March 2020, then was interrupted for the catastrophic reasons we know, and was able to resume in July.
Here, a formal research on the observation of acrobats, gymnasts and athletes was translated into a series of paintings and drawings, on canvas and on paper. It is inspired by a musical listening period that lasted the entire lockdown, selecting several albums whose covers also feature such human figures in absurd positions as models for visual studies.
A text juggling between automatic writing, referenced reading, and whimsical interpretation, also begun in March and continued through the end of the residency, was presented in auditory and live form in the space.
Finally, it is a concrete and physical research that intervenes in and around the residency studio, mainly because of the numerous trips back and forth that the artist makes between his work city of Fribourg and his home city of Geneva, Switzerland. But also because of a collection of objects and artifacts found and/or gathered in the Kabuff, carried out over months and restored here in a form free of all constraints, in the image of the time that the (cultural) world is currently experiencing.Or as a random comment found on a major video platform would say, „It reminds me of an innocent and happy village idiot walking in the sun on a beautiful summer day, climbing peach trees and going to the river to swim and fish. “
